| Description |

The Castellu di l'Accintu is a site that I discovered; I think that I was the first to fly it. It is situated at 1271m inside the enclosure wall of a bronze age stronghold, giving its name to the place. Best used for hike and fly given the time needed to drive from Carbini to the Ospedale range, it is orientated to the west. At the top of a steep pyramidal peak, it overlooks the Alta Rocca region, the valleys of Ortolo and Fiumiccicoli and their gulfs. The view is also amazing on the mountains ranges of the south: Cagna, Ospedale range, Monte Calva, Bavella Range, Mt Incudine...

The place is off the main roads, it is a site to be earned. The takeoff zone is not clean. Good handling skills needed to lift the wing of in a tight spot.
| Access |

The Castellu di l'Accintu site is a remote takeoff spot in the Corsican mountains, in the Ospedale mountain range. The shortest access is from the village of Cartalavone. However, this equates to a 50minutes car rotation to the Carbini landing. Therefore, when I discovered the site, I intended it for hike & fly from Carbini. From Carbini, count 2h15 to 3 hours depending on you hike speed.

| Flight Description |

The site is situated along the Corsican highest peaks lines, at the end of southern major valleys, therefore breeze and meteoritical winds can be strong and accelerated. The site can be flown with dynamic effect along the on the ridge to the north and south creating a gulley or using thermals on the rocky flanks. The landing in Carbini is easily reachable on glide from the takeoff.
| Airpace Specificities |

The site is situated at the crossroad of 4 airspaces. Directly above and to the west is the TMA Ajaccio 2, starting at 5500fts (1675m or 400m above the takeoff), it is a D class airspace, forbidden for us. To the south, behind a diagonal starting above the Ospedale lake, running to the south/east above Baccinu pass and the Cagna Mountain, is the Figari CTR, also forbidden. Few kilometers north is the TMA Ajaccio 5 starting at FL058 (2590m above the standard altitude) or 1000fts above surface (305m). It is a E class airspace, accessible for us.
